Atlas knows that the time it takes to complete a milling job is important to its customers. That’s why we are committed to significantly shortening the time needed to repair parts critical to keeping our customers’ production moving.
Atlas has the capability to perform milling repairs on a variety of different parts. That work includes die cast parts, roll control arms, press components, weldments, bolster plates, valve bodies, as well as any type of 4D machining and 3D surfacing.
Atlas recently increased the level of customer service on the repair of such parts with the purchase of a new HURCO Horizontal Boring Mill. Dennis Hanna, Vice President of Atlas’ Machine Shop Group, says the extra mill “is all about serving our customers even better.”
Whatever the milling need, Atlas has the machine capability and the expertise to meet it. Our weight capacity on jobs ranges from approximately 8,800 lbs. on the new HURCO to up to 15,400 lbs. on our other milling machines. This wide range in weight capacity and machine availability means that we can perform a greater variety of milling work and complete it in a shorter length of time.
And just as important…Atlas customers can have full confidence in the work being performed. All of our mill operators are Journeyman Machinists. We also meticulously track and rate the quality of the work performed on each job. A talented team of in-house engineers is also available to design replacement parts–should a job require it–that can be manufactured right in Atlas’ Machine Shop.
Such scrutiny and expertise are rare among Atlas’ competitors. As Mr. Hanna explains, “We have the best of the best in all the areas of our operation.”
